Service 03

Who advises your customers when nobody's there?

An adviser that asks before it suggests, and recommends from your real products.

In a shop, a good salesperson listens first, then asks two or three questions before showing anything. Online, the customer is left alone with a grid of filters. The adviser takes that role back: it asks, it chooses, and it explains why.

The problem

No filter understands a sentence.

Furniture

“A sofa that survives my cats' claws.”

Surf

“A board to improve on, but still fun on a small day.”

No filter answers those requests. A good salesperson does. That is the role we reproduce.

Demonstration

The same adviser. Two trades.

The vocabulary changes entirely. The way of advising does not.

Furniture

Client

An armchair for my living room. Something sculptural, but not too bulky.

Adviser

Sculptural without being bulky is a precise balance. Do you want it to anchor the room, or stay quiet?

Client

It should have presence.

Adviser

Then I look for a strong line, on legs that keep the floor visible. Three directions.

Surf

Client

A board to progress on, but still fun in small surf.

Adviser

Progress on what exactly: turning, or paddling and take-offs?

Client

Turning. My paddling is fine.

Adviser

Then I bring the volume down slightly and tighten the tail, without losing you stability. Three directions.

Two vocabularies, two doctrines, one method.

What we do

A salesperson, not a search engine.

Listening first

The adviser accepts a vague, incomplete request, expressed in the customer's own words.

Useful questions

Two or three questions at most — the ones that genuinely change the recommendation.

Real catalogue

It only offers references that exist and are in stock, with their real attributes.

Explained choices

Every recommendation is justified: why this one, and how it differs from the next.

Honesty

When nothing fits, it says so, and offers the nearest direction rather than a default product.

Your house tone

Vocabulary, register and commercial posture are set with you, then held to.

What you receive

An adviser built in, not bolted on.

  • The adviser integrated into your site, in your own visual identity
  • The configuration of tone, questions and recommendation rules
  • Anonymised conversations, available to read and to export
  • A regular reading of what your customers ask for and fail to find
  • Updates to the adviser as the catalogue changes

What it asks of you

A ready catalogue, and a decision.

The adviser can only be as good as the data beneath it. It assumes a catalogue that has already been normalised and enriched.

  • An enriched catalogue, produced by us or meeting the same standard
  • Limited technical access to place the adviser on your site
  • A clear decision on commercial tone: what the adviser may say, and what it will never say
